Kobudo

Kobudō refers to the weapon systems of Okinawan martial arts. We practice the “Ryukyu” style of kobudo. The weapons that taught are as follows: bō (six foot staff), sai (dagger-shaped truncheon), tonfa (handled club), kama (sickle), and nunchaku (chained sticks) and the eku (boat oar of traditional Okinawan design). All training is safe and supervised by certified black belt senior instructors.

Training in Kobudo is two-fold: it teaches you to take an inadamate object and make it a part of your body and it also preserves the ancient culture of Okinawa.

All students are welcome to take part of kobudo classes at no additional cost to the student. The only requirement is that you must be at least the rank of blue belt.

Weapons classes are available at the Hampton location on Tuesdays from 8:00-9:00 p.m (for ages 15+), Fridays from 5:00-6:00 p.m. (for ages 7-11) and 6:00-7:00 p.m. (for ages 12-15).
